The whole path, in one place
What we're building on Spectrum Path
Built for parents, filled by parents — from the first "we think it might be autism" to adulthood. The frameworks are ready; the founding 100 fill them with lived experience.
Newsfeed
Curated reading from trusted, evidence-aware voices — refreshed by our editorial team, never by an algorithm.
Read →Chat groups
Real-time peer support — the engine of the community. Every group publishes its moderation pledge upfront, and you can always start your own room.
Enter →Parents' stories
Long-form lived experience. Only registered parents can post, and only registered parents can comment.
Read →Their bright moments
Things they made, things they said, things they're proud of. Anonymous by default, fiercely protective of children's privacy.
See →Diagnosis & whole-child testing
Autism rarely arrives alone. Founders' real assessment journeys will map the whole-child workup for the next family.
See the framework →Education & schooling
Six distinct paths, each treated with respect — to be filled with what actually happened in founders' IEP meetings, homeschool rooms and school pivots.
See the framework →Resources & recommendations
A directory built purely from parent recommendations. We don't endorse — founders rate what helped their family.
See the framework →Practical daily living
Sleep, food, sensory life, meltdowns — the wisdom of ten thousand real bedtimes, contributed one founder at a time.
See the framework →Financial planning
The seven questions every family eventually faces — answered by parents who've sat with the lawyers and done the sums.
See the framework →Marriage & relationships
Honest conversation about partnerships under pressure — and single parenting — from people actually living it.

For dads
Anonymous by default. No real name required. No personal-feelings prompts, no oversharing pressure. Just the tactical stuff fathers actually want: money, stress, parenting, and the long road of education.
01 · Finance
Paying for everything. Trusts, ABLE accounts, insurance fights, the next ten years.
02 · Stress
Coping without therapy-speak. Sleep, exercise, when to take a break, and the anonymous "I'm losing it" thread.
03 · Parenting
Tactics from 1,000+ dads. Discipline that works for autistic kids. No judgment, no platitudes.
04 · Education journeys
The long arc — what worked for kids like yours, medication decisions, real progress stories.
Our culture
Eight commitments we hold to each other
This is what makes Spectrum Path different — written down, so you can hold us to it.
And one more: chat is not edited. Full parent perspectives stay — only destructive, abusive or harmful content is removed. Read the full guidelines →

Questions parents ask
I feel so alone as a parent of an autistic child — is that normal?
It's the most common feeling there is on this path, and it says nothing bad about you or your child. Friendships thin out, family doesn't always get it, and the everyday world isn't built for your everyday. The antidote isn't advice — it's other parents who actually live it. That's the entire reason Spectrum Path exists: we match you with the families walking a path like yours — and the more families join, the closer those matches get — so "someone who gets it" stops being a phrase and becomes actual people.
How do I cope with my child's autism diagnosis?
There's no manual, and anyone selling you one is selling you something. What helps, parents tell us over and over, is three things: real information without hype (our diagnosis guide maps the whole-child workup and the questions worth asking), permission to feel everything you're feeling (you matter too), and parents a step ahead of you on the same road. Nothing here is medical advice — decisions stay between you and professionals who know your child.
What's the best online community or website for parents of autistic children?
The honest answer: the best one is wherever parents like you are genuinely heard — not advertised to, not farmed for content, not lectured. We built Spectrum Path to be that place: 100% non-profit, no data ever sold (signed pledge), closed to the public, chat groups run by parents themselves, and members matched by how closely their family's path resembles yours. We're opening with 100 founding families — judge us by what they build.
My child was just diagnosed with autism. What should I do first?
Breathe. You are not behind, and nothing has to be solved this week. Your child is the same child they were before the appointment. When you're ready: our diagnosis section covers the whole-child testing worth discussing with your clinicians, and the first thing most parents say helped wasn't a therapy at all — it was talking to one other parent who'd been there.
Is there autism support for dads?
Yes — and it's built like dads asked for it, because they did: a dads' section that is practical, low-noise and anonymous if you like. Finance, strategy, brotherhood, staying in the game. Dads famously drift away from support spaces; this one was designed so you'd actually stay.
Is Spectrum Path really free — and really private?
Free forever, for every family, everywhere — it's a non-profit with nothing for sale. And private in the strongest sense we could build: everything members share sits behind sign-in where search engines and the public internet can't see it, data is encrypted and never sold, and the founder's signed pledge stands behind that in writing.
