1 · What Spectrum Path is — and is not

• Spectrum Path is a peer-support community: parents and caregivers sharing lived experience with each other, plus curated links to third-party information.
• Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal, educational or financial advice. No content here — whether from members, moderators, our guides, or linked resources — is a substitute for advice from qualified professionals who know you and your child. Always consult them before making decisions.
• We do not endorse any therapy, provider, school, product or approach. Members share what they experienced; ratings and recommendations are personal opinions of individual parents, not our recommendations.
• This is not a crisis or emergency service and is not monitored continuously. If you or your child are in danger or crisis, contact your local emergency services or the crisis lines on our crisis help page.

2 · Who can join

• Membership is for people aged 18 or over who are parents or primary caregivers of an autistic child. This is a parent-only community: professionals, providers, therapists, researchers and organisations — however well-meaning — may not join, and creating an account confirms you are joining as a parent or primary caregiver.
• By creating an account you confirm you are 18+, the information you give is honest, and you accept these terms and our privacy policy.

3 · Your content

• You own what you write. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on this site and — where you contribute experience to community guides — to include it there with identifying details removed. That licence exists solely to run the community and ends for content you delete.
• You are responsible for what you post. Post only what is true to your experience, and nothing that violates another person's rights — including the privacy rights of your own children (see our publishing guardrails).
• When writing about professionals, schools or providers, stick to your factual, first-hand experience and honest opinion. Do not post accusations you cannot stand behind. We may remove content that creates legal risk for you or the community, and that removal is not censorship — it's protection.

4 · Acceptable use

The community guidelines — including the eight commitments, the site-wide floor (no abuse, harassment, doxxing, spam, or content that harms children) and the children's-privacy guardrails — form part of these terms. Breaking them can lead to content removal, suspension, or account termination.

5 · Reporting content ("notice and takedown")

If any content on this site defames you, infringes your rights, endangers a child, or otherwise breaks the law or these terms: use the ⚑ Report button on the content, or email hello@thespectrumpath.com with a link to the content and the reason. We review reports promptly, hide content while we assess where appropriate, and act on valid notices. This is how we keep member honesty and everyone's legal rights in balance.

6 · Moderation

We moderate as described in the guidelines: full parent perspectives stay; destructive, abusive, unlawful or harmful content is removed. We may remove content or accounts at our discretion to protect the community or comply with law. Moderators are volunteers acting in good faith.

7 · What we're responsible for — and what we're not

• We provide this site free, as-is, and as a volunteer-run non-profit. We work hard to keep it available and safe but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, or the accuracy of member content or third-party resources.
• Member content is the responsibility of the member who posted it, not of Spectrum Path.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss or damage arising from use of this site, reliance on any content on it, or actions taken based on other members' experiences. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (for example, for our own fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
• Decisions about your child — medical, educational, therapeutic, financial — are yours, made with your professionals. That's not us dodging responsibility; it's the truth about who knows your child.
• You use this site at your own judgment and risk. Other members' experiences are theirs, not predictions for your family; what helped one child can be wrong for another.
• Connections between members are between members. If you choose to message, meet, or exchange anything with another member — online or in person — you do so at your own discretion; we are not a party to those interactions and are not responsible for them. Meet strangers the sensible way: public places, no obligations.
• If your deliberate breach of these terms (for example, posting content you knew to be false or unlawful) causes a legal claim against Spectrum Path, its founder, moderators or volunteers, you agree to stand behind your own content and compensate them for losses that your breach directly causes, to the extent permitted by the law of your home country.

8 · Donations

Donations are voluntary, non-refundable gifts that fund only the running of this site and reaching more families, as set out in our founding charter. Donations are not payment for any service. [Charitable status and gift-aid details to be added once registration completes.]

9 · Ending an account

You can delete your account and data at any time (see the privacy policy). We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, with or without notice where necessary to protect the community.

10 · The boring but necessary bits

• We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site, and continued use after that means acceptance.
• If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas [to be confirmed with counsel on incorporation], and disputes belong to the courts there, unless the law of your home country gives you rights that cannot be waived — nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights you hold where you live.
• Spectrum Path is operated from The Bahamas and welcomes families worldwide. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you where you live.
